City Garden Retreat

This ‘edgy’, backyard design and installation is in mid-Toronto’s Hog’s Hollow area.

From the French doors of the house, you step out onto an ipe wood deck with a tempered glass and stainless steel railing.  From the deck you can access the flagstone terrace with it’s dining area, lounge area with fire-table, and an outdoor kitchen.  The outdoor kitchen has a built in barbeque and bar, as well as a large food preparation area.  This area is flanked by a wooden pergola that provides access to the side yard pathway. Another option from the deck is a walkway to a concrete hot tub, backed by a feature stone wall. The other side of the stone wall has a water feature that provides another focal point in the backyard, as well as the pleasing sound of the water cascading from multiple copper pipes into the pool.  Flagstone set in a grid pattern in grass provides another patio area adjacent to the water feature.

There is a great deal of masonry stonework on this site; all completed with careful attention to detail.  Credit Valley ledgerock and Kingston Hue ledgerock were used in combination to closely match the existing stonework of the house.
