Adam Gracey started the company.
Together with his wife Christine & a close core staff of dedicated professionals in the areas of landscape architectural technologists, landscape architects, certified horticulturalists/landscapers, stonemasons, carpenters and electricians, they provide a full range of services and support in all areas of landscape construction and landscape design. Over the years D.A. Gracey & Associates has become as much a family as it is a business.

The characters of the company are what make each landscaping project come to life. Adam Gracey, Landscape Architectural Technologist, Ryerson Polytechnical University (Toronto Campus) – 1984 is the principle member of the firm. He maintains a high level of involvement in each and every stage of project development and implementation, and is dedicated to addressing the needs of each individual client.

Christine Gracey, Landscape Architect, O.A.L.A., C.L.S.A. would be the matriarch of the family and is involved in landscape design, project co-ordination, supervision and client liason. A graduate of Ryerson Polytechnical University (Toronto Campus) – 1984, she has worked on a large variety of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects over the years, and brings a wide variety of expertise to the firm.

Adam and Christine lean heavily on the talents of the curly haired eccentric “uncle” JP & the always-there “cousin” Shirley. Although only Adam and Christine are related, the rest, including all the specialty artists/workers and of course, the seasonal helpers, all come together like kids at a family reunion. The best part is that they all get to play, where else, but outside together.

This begins with an idea. A mood. A place your mind, body and spirit would like to visit when you leave your four walls. We believe in making residential landscape design projects that are special, because we truly believe in being able to live outside. It should feel good. It should come from an inspiration and create a place that let’s you chill, meditate, entertain, eat, celebrate, laugh. When your outdoor space is built around an idea, it will truly grow.

So rather than impose our beliefs on you, we will work with you to cultivate your idea of a perfect outdoor space. Then with our expertise and experience we will nurture that idea, bring it to life and try our darndest to make it even better than you could have expected. Of course we’ve done incredible things with 10 feet of space and with 10 acres. We’d love to put ourselves into your outdoor space.
